1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you sign in, we collect your name and email address via OAuth authentication. We do not store passwords.

Google Ads Data

When you connect your Google Ads account, we access the following data via the Google Ads API on your behalf:

• Campaign performance metrics (impressions, clicks, spend, conversions)
• Keyword performance and match type data
• Search term reports
• Ad group structure and bidding strategy settings
• Account-level budget and billing information (read-only)

We access this data in read-only mode. We never create, modify, pause, or delete any campaigns, keywords, ads, or account settings in your Google Ads account.

Uploaded Files

If you upload CSV or Excel files exported from Google Ads, we process and store the data contained in those files to generate your audit report.

Business Context

During onboarding, we collect information about your business type, advertising goals, and conversion tracking setup. This information is used solely to personalise your audit results.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Generate Google Ads audit reports and recommendations
• Personalise analysis based on your business goals and context
• Maintain your audit history and track improvements over time
• Generate AI-powered executive summaries of your audit results
• Improve the accuracy and relevance of our audit engine
• Provide customer support

We do not sell your data. We do not use your Google Ads data for advertising, benchmarking against other users, or any purpose other than generating your own audit reports.

3. Google Ads API Data — Specific Disclosures

Our use of data obtained via the Google Ads API is subject to the Google Ads API Terms of Service. Specifically:

• Google Ads data is accessed only with your explicit authorization via OAuth 2.0
• We request only the minimum scope required: https://www.googleapis.com/auth/adwords
• Your Google Ads data is stored securely and is never shared with third parties except as described in Section 4
• You may revoke our access to your Google Ads account at any time via your Google Account permissions or from within AdsInvestigator
• Upon account deletion or disconnection, your Google Ads data is deleted from our systems within 30 days

4. Information Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We may share data only in the following limited circumstances:

• Service providers: We use cloud infrastructure providers (including database and file storage services) to operate the platform. These providers process data only on our behalf and under strict confidentiality obligations.
• AI providers: If you choose to use OpenAI or Anthropic models for executive summaries, anonymised audit data is sent to those providers' APIs. This is optional and controlled by your AI Settings. We do not use your data to train AI models.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (TLS), encrypted storage of OAuth tokens and API keys, and access controls limiting who can access your data. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data and audit history for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data and Google Ads data within 30 days. Uploaded files are retained for 90 days after an audit is completed, then automatically deleted.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Disconnect your Google Ads account at any time
• Export your audit history

8. Cookies

We use a single session cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies. We use privacy-respecting analytics (Umami) that does not collect personally identifiable information.

9. Children's Privacy

AdsInvestigator is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new policy on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
